Or as it's called in Romania, Biserica Sfântul Nicolae Domnesc. Located in Iasi, Romania, it was originally built in the late 1400's, though it has gone through renovations, fire, rebuilding etc. over the years.
Fires that I know about were in 1725, 1753, 1784, 1822, 1827 and 1853. Must be all the candles they use. There have been earthquakes and plus the normal wear and tear of buildings as they age.
It is a Romanian Orthodox church and gets it's "Princely" name from the fact that it was build close to the palace of rulers in the area. The one that established the Church was Stephen the Great.
The outside of the church is painted with various Bible scenes. It is right in the middle of town, so much so that a huge shopping mall is its neighbor on one side, and the Palace of Culture on the other.
It officially is a Romanian historical landmark.
Self taught, I use the computer to paint. I've always been interested in computers since I first worked on one way back in high school. And I've always had an appreciation for art, as my mother is an accomplished painter. Merging the two, what you see are the results. Digital work that looks (hopefully!) like a traditional painting. My paintings are mostly places I've been, preserving the memory and sharing them with the world. I love to travel, seeing and experiencing new things. Painting the things I see reflect the wonder I had when I first saw them. I hope that when people see my works, they think the subject matter is interesting, whether or not they like the painting.
