Standing on Skellig Michael, you can see the boats waiting offshore to bring back their passengers from their island trip. The island, not much more than a huge rock pretruding from the ocean floor, is not the easiest place to get to. If the seas are rough, the boats are not allowed to bring passengers. Landing isin't easy, even if the seas are calm enough. Most of the shore is what you see here, pure rock. There is one concrete landing area that one has to be very careful getting off the boat as it bounces up and down in the water. And only one boat will fit at a time. This is why, I suppose, they wait offshore.
Off in the distance you see the pointed peaks of Little Skellig, much smaller than Skellig Michael, from from which this view originates. And further past Little Skellig, you can see the coast of Ireland.
This day, the seas were calm enough, but still fairly rough.
Self taught, I use the computer to paint. I've always been interested in computers since I first worked on one way back in high school. And I've always had an appreciation for art, as my mother is an accomplished painter. Merging the two, what you see are the results. Digital work that looks (hopefully!) like a traditional painting. My paintings are mostly places I've been, preserving the memory and sharing them with the world. I love to travel, seeing and experiencing new things. Painting the things I see reflect the wonder I had when I first saw them. I hope that when people see my works, they think the subject matter is interesting, whether or not they like the painting.
