Description
We went to Riverside Iowa on one of our many road trips. I especially wanted to see the Star Trek museum. Allegedly, Riverside is the birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk (if you know, you know).
While driving into town and as we were crossing the English River on Riverside Street, I saw this cool looking church at the top of a hill toward the back of town. I made note and first went to the museum (very nice) and then to the monument dedicating Riverside as the Future (2233) birthplace of the aforementioned Kirk.
After all of that, we searched for the church, and this is the result. The whole area is a historical district on the National Register of Historic Places. The current church building was built in 1907. Parts of the district were built as early as 1877.
